We buy the whole coconut from cooperative growers across Mindanao and find a home for every part of it. The meat becomes virgin and RBD oil, desiccated coconut and toasted chips. The shells are burned into charcoal. The husk is stripped into coir fibre and coco peat for growers. Year-round, with full traceability back to the harvesting communities.

Coir fibre and coco peat are the by-products of pressing oil, and they are what growers now plant in. The peat holds water and air around the roots in place of harvested moss; the fibre gives potting mixes their structure, lines hanging baskets, and holds soil on slopes until roots take over. Both are renewable, and both come off the same nut as the oil.
